My dog has lots of small scabs and spots after getting a flea treatment?

we put the flea treatment we bought from the store on my dog from sholderblades to the end of his body. Now he had spots and scabs down his neck, chest, nd belly. There’s some random spts all around him. And some are scabby. Anybody have any experience with this?
