I would like to get a dog?

I would need a dog that will get along with my cats, sisters. The girls are almost 1, what breed will mesh with the cats. Would a puppy be best, or an adult dog that is already aclimated to cats?

I really don’t know what to say here. You risk a chance of the dog not liking the cats, or even the cats beating up on the dog. I read a post on here the other day about a lady that was so upset because her husband had just called her and told her “her dog just killed her cat.” Please take this into consideration because if you opt for a small dog and the cats don’t like it, then the cats could also hurt/kill the dog. I just never believed the two should mix, but I know a lot of people do this with no problems. Just think it through and weigh all your options, and really consider WHY your wanting to get a dog if you have two cats. I have a dog I have had for 11 years and earlier this year I got the brainy idea of getting another puppy for our family. Biggest mistake I have ever made. The older dog HATES the new one. Won’t let him eat or drink and can’t stand to watch him play. He is always attacking him. I literally have to stand inbetween them so the new one can eat, and he isn’t even new anymore, he has been with us since February! Big big headache! Like I said…just think it through.
