Have an outdoor water fountain, I am trying to find the right chemicals to put in it that will not hurt my dog

Its a 30 gal pond that I am trying to redo but the chemcials I used last year did not work and I can not find a business around here to help me. The dogs really like to drink from the pond and I know there is stuff out there that will not hurt them. And I have to small of a yard to move the dogs tie out to another location. Any suggestions ?

Use about 6 oz of regular household bleach. The chlorine will keep algae from growing in the fountain and keep it cleaner. This amount of chlorine in the water will not harm the animals.

I would dose the fountain about once a week.
