An Invisible Dog Fence Will Offer Your Canine A Whole New World

An invisible dog fence will offer a “fenceless” border to your house and property. For many of us who do not have a fenced in yard, one of these items is one of the best options to keep your pet inside the border without the hassle of putting a traditional fence around your yard. There are two basic types of an invisible dog fence on the market. There is the wireless type of fence and the electric or electronic type of pet fence. The main difference is how they are put together, and this article being a general review, references to both models.

For the electric, also known as in-ground, type of fencing, the way it works is pretty basic. First, a wire is buried around the border of the property you would like contained. This wire emits a radio signal to a lightweight collar that your canine wears. Your dog should be wearing the receiver collar whenever he is outside in the yard. One important point to emphasize is that your pet must be trained and trained correctly for an invisible dog fence to work in a humane and effective method. When your pet gets close to the edge set by the wires, the collar will emit a warning sound letting your canine know he is getting too close. If your canine is correctly trained to use the system, she will often not venture beyond this point. However, if the canine goes past the border line, the receiver will emit a mild static correction to tell your pet that is too far. The shock is not hurtful to your canine and should not be viewed as harmful. It is similar to scooting across the carpet in socks and then touching your loved ones.

The other type of invisible dog fence discussed is the wireless type of Dog Fencing. Wireless systems have a transmitter that can be located in any secure and dry location like a garage. Instead of wire being hidden around the perimeter of your yard, when using a wireless fencing system, you really only need to plug it in and set the area of the boundary. Wireless fence systems are extremely nice if you require portability with your dog fence. They can be taken with you anywhere you go. The way the receiver collar works with a wireless fence is quite similar to the electronic fence.

There are some of us who do not think that using these designs of fencing systems is humane. As long as directions are followed and correct training methods are in place, an invisible dog fence offers a very safe and effective way to keep your dog contained. It is also a fraction of the cost of fencing in your entire yard. The collars that come with these models of systems are specifically designed to have adjustable settings of correction. You should use the lowest possible correction that effectively gets the point across to your pet. Smaller pets need lower settings and there are even specific models available for Little Dogs.

An invisible dog fence is a great way to keep your pet safe and secure within the borders you set. With a little training, your dog will never venture past the point of needing a zap. Personally, with my canines, the minute they see the collar being put on them, they are on their best behavior and enjoy the freedom they have from one of these fantastic products. Both the underground electric fences and the wireless ones work great. Is there a reason you wand the wireless though. You can control the shape of the accessible area for your dog better with the underground fence. Installation on the underground ones is really easy.
