New crate, now puppy messing in it???

My puppy is nearly 4 months old, and when we got her about a month ago we bought her a crate and she learned quite well, we never had any accidents in the crate, she went all night too.
now, we got her a new larger crate two days ago and she keeps weeing and pooing in it day and night whenever we put her in it. Could this be that it is too big? if so where can i get a divider from? (UK or online).
Also is it best to cover the crate with a sheet or something so she has privacy? her old one was completely enclosed with flaps that came up for windows etc.
Any advice on training her greatly appreciated also. (she is a big dog and dont want her to grow up being a pain). Many thanks

At four months old, she’s still quite young to expect perfect toilet training. She (and you) have done well so far to get her going through the night in her old crate. I would have thought it was worth trying to block off the back part of her crate temporarily, maybe with strong cardboard or hardboard or something like that, held in place with padding behind it maybe, then remove it as she grows and her training improves.
Yes, i think a cover is a good idea, especially if you intend her to travel in her crate in the car, as it stops her seeing out so she’s less likely to be disturbed by scenery flashing by. I made ours out of lightweight dark cloth, (so it’s quite airy on hot days, but excludes light and shelters him form sunlight in the car.)
