Crates, also called dog carrier or dog kennel, are also available in a sturdy plastic and soft sided, normally used to transport your pet for their annual check up at the vets, for traveling in the car, or by plane. They are light in weight and very easy to carry, the soft sided ones even fold up like a small suitcase when they are not in use.
Soft sided carriers have mesh along the sides and front, which allows for plenty of ventilation. The doors are usually secured by a zipper. The soft sided carriers are great if you are around the pet while he or she is in it, however if your pet likes to chew and claw, a soft sided may not be what you are looking for. You might consider a plastic carrier which is sturdier, very easy to keep clean, and lasts a long time.

Puppy leads and collars?
We have a 4month old border collie who pulls lots on her lead. At the minute we have a half check collar and a medium chain lead with a leather handle…obviously for larger, stronger breeds. We have began Puppy Training classes, but it consists largely of older dogs up to the age of 8 months! (Odd I know for puppy training). Anyway, we’re looking for a suitable – or the one needed – lead and collar so we can control her easily around all sized dogs, and during the training classes, and ultimately, during walks. We’ve been advised that what we’re currently using is not the best for the puppy, any suggestions to help us?
Again, we know NOW that what we’re using is not appropriate so please don’t mention that, all I’m looking for is your advice and suggestions on what would be beneficial.
ALL pups have lousy transmissions,clutches & steering.
A plain nylon collar & 6 ft. lead is fine for any pup.
